Do you have an anniversary, birthday or graduation coming up soon? What better way to celebrate than to go on vacation?
Two years ago my husband and I had a year of big celebrations. It was our 15 year anniversary. It was also my husband’s 40th birthday. We wanted to do something that we haven’t done before. After a lot of research, changing our minds, and planning, We wanted to do something that we haven’t done before.
The next year I turned 40. I had been dreading turning 40 for a really long time. For years leading up to my 40th birthday, I dropped subtle hints that I wanted him to take me to Disneyland to celebrate. I had kind of stopped talking about it for a few years. Mainly because I wanted him to think that it was his idea. Of course, he had picked up on the clues years ago and started planning our trip in secret several months before my 40th birthday.
According to a 2017 AARP research study, celebrations are one of the top reasons adults age 45 and older travel. It’s not a surprise that celebration vacations are becoming more and more popular. Why not take your family or your significant other on a great vacation to celebrate a big milestone in your life?
Celebration travel is especially appealing to multi-generational vacationers. When families live in different cities or states travel can be a great way to get together. Travel is fun for everyone and creates vivid memories through shared experience.
It’s best to plan your vacation at least 6 months to a year in advance. Cruises and all-inclusive resorts are great for large families or groups. You can book group shore excursions, exclusive group lunches or receptions, and even group photos. Some families may want to be all together in a large Villa or private home.Other families may prefer to stay in separate rooms for privacy.
